Obituary

Josiah Adams, a Civil War veteran, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. E. J. Parker Tuesday May 16. He was the son of Nathan and Mary Hildreth Adams. He was born in Grand Isle July 1838. He belonged to the Union Cavalry and distinguished himself by his gallant action in service in the war between the North and South. The funeral was held at the home of E. J. Parker Thursday May 18. Rev. H. P. Sweet officiated. The burial was in the family lot in the Grand Isle cemetery.
