Obituary
CHARLES W. BUMPUS
Calais Resident and Town's Last Civil War Veteran Dead.
East Calais, May 6. - Charles W. Bumpus, who would have observed his 93rd birthday on May 11, died yesterday morning at 4:30 o'clock at his home here. He was the last Civil war veteran of Calais.
Funeral services will be held at the East Calais church at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, preceded by a prayer service at the home at 2 o'clock. Rev. A, W. Hewitt of Northfield will officiate. Burial will be in the East Calais cemetery. An American Legion service will be given at the grave with a firing squad giving final salute.
