Obituary
TW0 GUILFORD MEN KILLED AT GREENFIELD;
Joseph Wallace and James Moriarty of Guilford were struck and instantly killed yesterday afternoon as they were leaving Greenfield, by the express train from the south. They had been in the village on business, and on their way home when the accident occurred. The bodies were thrown quite a distance, the horse carried one hundred, and killed, and the wagon ruined. The train charge of conductor Moore was halted, and the bodies taken to the station, where they were soon recognized. The crossing is a dangerous one. Down the track one can see for quite a distance, but to the north the track is not visible for any great distance. The electric signal at the crossing is frequently out of order, and fails to sound. A man who crossed the track yesterday afternoon at the crossing said the signal was not working then.
Mr. Wallace, who was about 65, leaves a widow and several children, one being Mrs. Walter Westherhead of Greenfield.
