Obituary
DEATH OF NATHANIEL WHITTIER
Nathaniel Whittier, for many years a bookkeeper for granite firms in t his city and Barre, died yesterday at the State hospital for the insane at Waterbury, where he was recently taken for treatment. Mr. Whittier was a native of Springfield, Mass., and was 66 years old. He served in the Civil War in Company H, 2nd Massachusetts heavy artillery. He was an expert accountant and his services in that capacity were much in demand. Mr. Whittier was twice married, his second wife dying 15 years ago. He leaves five daughters.
