Obituary

BRANDON
Death of John Ayer, Civil War Veteran

Brandon, March 21. - John Ayer died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. M. M. Dudley on Leicester road Friday evening. Mr. Ayer was 86 years old. He was a member of the Methodist and of C. J. Ormsbee Post, G.A.R., serving in Company G, 12th Vermont Regiment. Mr. Ayer was mustered in August 14 1862 and mustered out July 14, 1863. He is survived by one son Edwin and one daughter, Dudley, both of this town. The funeral was held Monday from the Methodist church, with burial in Pine Hill cemetery. Rev. George A. Kerr officiated.
