James S. Babcock
James S. Babcock died at his home in Burlington Friday after a long illness. Mr. Babcock, who was in the 66th year of his age, was a son of Benjamin and Maritia (Renslow) Babcock, of Hinesburg. He enlisted in Co. C, 12th Vt. Vols., and served through the years 1862 and 1863. Subsequently, he entered the employ of the G. S. Blodgett Co., of Burlington by whom he was employed for thirty-seven years. Thirty-eight years ago he married Miss Lucy Clark, who survives him. He also leaves three sons.
