Obituary

Elijah Atwood, an old veteran in the Marion Home, who died in the hospital at that branch last Saturday, has had his tomb ready for occupancy the past three years. Three years ago he purchased a lot in the cemetery at Jonesboro and around it placed a walk and in the centre a tomb. Over the casket is a large slab and over the vault at the top another bearing his name, war record and birth. He was 84 years old and his record in the army was with Co. F, 3rd N. Y. Calvary; Co. E, 33rd N. Y. Infantry, and Co. I, 18th Penn. Infantry.
