Obituary
Major F. Allen died at his home in Forestdale, Tuesday, August 24, aged 68 years.
The deceased was born in Rochester, Dec. 20, 1829, and was married to Miss Augusta Childs, Oct. 10, 1854. He served in the Civil War as sergeant of Co. G, 12th Vt. Regiment. He was a member of the G.A.R., also of St. Paul's Lodge, No. 25, F. and A. M. Both organizations attended the funeral, which was held from his late home on Sunday, the Rev. J. H. Robinson of the Methodist church officiating. The burial was in the Forestdale Cemetery.
