David Bartlett, Civil war veteran, born in Shaftsbury 89 years ago, died at the Vermont Soldier's home hospital at Bennington at a late hour Tuesday night following a brief illness. Had he lived until the fourth day of next May, he would have celebrated his ninetieth birthday.
