Obituary

SOUTH WOODBURY

The news of the death of Ira Batchelder, which recently occurred at his home in Reading, Mass., comes as a surprise and sorrow to his many friends. He was for many years a resident of this town, and will be remembered as social and genial, and endowed with a cheerful disposition. The tragic end came as the result of despondency over his own poor health and that of his wife. He served in the Civil War and was a member of Co. I, 11th Regt. Vt. Vols.
