Obituary

HARTLAND

Charles H. Boyd, for about twelve years an employee of H. S. Britton, rose from his bed Wednesday morning, Feb. 22nd, and proceeded to build the house fires as usual. Having started the kitchen fire and while making ready to do the same in the sitting-room, he fell suddenly to the floor and expired in a few moments. His age was 56 years. On the Saturday following his death, at 10 o'clock a. m., funeral services were held at the place of his late residence, Rev. E. W. Sturtevant officiating. The singing services were rendered by H. B. Ketchum, Mrs. C. V. N. Winslow and Mrs. C. A. Sturtevant. J. H. Emerson had charge of the funeral ceremonies, and the remains were taken to Ascutneyville for burial.
