The Medical and Surgical History of the War of the Rebellion (1861-1865)
Extract from Wikipedia - The Medical and Surgical History of the War of the Rebellion, 1861-65 was a United States Government Printing Office publication consisting of six volumes, issued between 1870 and 1888 and 'prepared Under the Directi of Surgeon General United States Army, Joseph K. Barnes.' The works details tens of thousands of surgical cases and diseases occurring during the American Civil War (1861-1865).
To date, we've identified 463 Vermont cases, and transcribed about 120 of them. This is, obviousy, a work in progress.

There are multiple references to Vermont regiments and issues that they had early in the war to sickness in camp. Also, there are numerous references to Vermont surgeons treating soldiers in other states' regiment, but no individual cases similar to the other parts of this report.
