Veteran Edward Blaisdell Receives a Call from His Captain
Capt. J.E. Eldredge, commander of department of Vermont, G.A.R., came to this city Friday to visit his old comrade, Edward Blaisdell, who is being cared for at the Red Cross hospital. Mr. Blaisdell was in Co. H, 11th Vermont volunteers, and served under Capt. Eldredge three years, during which time he was promoted to corporal, sergeant, first sergeant, and second lieutenant. Tears of joy filled the eyes of the sick man as he looked once more upon the face of his old friend and captain, whom he had seen for eight years.
