Prisoners of War
The final statements of the artillery, cavalry, infantry and sharpshooter units in the 1892 Revised Roster indicate that 2,214 Vermont soldiers were taken prisoner during the course of the war, and 615 of them died in prison. I have identified 2187 of them so far; I will add names as I find them, and, as always, welcome additions, deletions or corrections.
