Where Did They Go?

Texas

Corse; Malcolm Sears (1st Vermont Cavalry); and his wife, Nancy HOLMES Corse, had two children in Enosburgh: Elmer C. Holmes Corse, 1866, and Ethel May Corse, 1868. They had Arthur Malcolm Corse, 1871, in Baxter Springs, Cherokee CO, KS, on the way to Texas. They had Chancy Henry Corse, Sr., 1875, in Spring Garden (now Bedford), Tarrant CO, TX. This year, 2004, we discovered the one-year daily diary kept by Nancy HOLMES that covered the year, 1859, in Vermont leading up to the marriage of Nancy and Malcolm. Malcom and Nancy bought 40 acres in Forest Hill (Brambleton, six acres of which are still in the family with a great-granddaughter, Mildred Brown, living there. Dillingham, Charles; resided in the South since he left the army. For several years he was engaged in mercantile business. he served a term as United States naval officer at New Orleans, LA. He is at present receiver of the Houston and Texas Railroad, TX. (8 Inf)
