1863 Report
In the THIRD REGIMENT Col. Breed N. Hyde resigned January 15, 1863, and Lieut. Col. Thomas O. Seaver was appointed Colonel, Major Samuel E. Pingree was appointed Lieut. Colonel, and Capt. Thomas Nelson, of Co. I, was appointed Major.
The Roster of the Commissioned Officers of the Regiment, at the present time, is as follows:--

Capt. James Powers, Company A, resigned Aug. 11, 1863.
Capt. Romeo H. Start, Company E, resigned May 19, 1863.
Capt. Burr J. Austin, Company I, resigned May 14, 1863.
First Lieut. Moses F. Brown, Company H, resigned.
The casualties among enlisted men, reported since Nov. 1, 1862, have been as follows:--Died 62, Discharged 142, Transferred to Invalid Corps 3.
