DAVIS, George Evans (1839-1926)

Born 26 Dec 1839, Dunstable, MA. Died 28 Jun 1926, Soldier's Home, Burlington; buried Lakeview Cemetery, Burlington. 1st Lieutenant, Co. D, 10th Vermont Infantry, credited to Burlington. At Monocacy, MD, on 9 July 1864, "While in command of a small force, held the approaches to the 2 bridges against repeated assaults of superior numbers, thereby materially delaying Early's advance on Washington." Medal of Honor issued 27 May 1892. (NARA File: 6264-VS-1879)

HENRY, William Wirt (1831-1915)

Born 21 Nov 1832, Waterbury. Died 31 Aug 1915; buried Lakeview Cemetery, Burlington (Maple Block, Lot 1). Colonel, 10th Vermont Infantry, credited to Waterbury. At Cedar Creek, VA, on 19 Oct 1864, "though suffering from severe wounds, rejoined his regiment and led it in a brilliant charge, capturing the guns of an abandoned battery." Medal of Honor issued 21 Dec 1892. (NARA File: V-224-VS-1864)

SCOTT, Alexander (1844-1923)

Born 19 Aug 1844, Canada. Died 27 May 1923; buried Arlington National Cemetery, VA (Section 17, Grave 204772). Corporal, Co. D, 10th Vermont Infantry, credited to Winooski. At Monocacy, MD, on 9 July 1864, "under a very heavy fire of the enemy saved the national flag of his regiment from capture." Medal of Honor issued 28 Sep 1897. (NARA File: R&P 492840)
