A sad accident occurred at the hospital at Brattleboro, while some of the soldiers were firing a salute in honor of the recent victories, by which Sergeant Geo. P. Moore of St. Johnsbury, had his right hand blown off by the premature discharge of the cannon. He had served nearly three years, and had recently been released from rebel prison.
