Organization and Service1st Vermont Company Frontier Cavalry (Co. M, 26th NY CAV)
Organized for one year's service on the Northern Frontier of Vermont, part of the 26th New York Cavalry. At least part of Company "M" organized at Rutland, Vermont, on January 4, 1865.
SERVICE.--Left for Burlington, Jan. 5, 1865. Quartered there in barracks on the 'Old Fair Ground," Burlington; thence moved to St. Albans, Feb. 24, 1865. Returned to Burlington and mustered out Jun. 27, 1865.
